Prince William offered first aid to dying man - says biographer

Britain's Prince William offered to perform first aid on a dying football fan, a royal source has claimed.
Royal biographer, Gyles Brandreth, says the 21-year-old royal was the first to offer help, when 50-year-old David Luckhurst was struck by a heart attack during a FA Cup Final in Cardiff, Wales, in May (06).
Brandeth also says William delayed presenting the Cup to the winning team, after comforting the man's shocked son. According to Britain's Daily Express newspaper, the grandfather-of-six was enjoying the match between Liverpool and West Ham, when he suddenly collapsed 20 minutes into the first half. William reportedly did not waste time, offering a helping hand in the chaotic situation. Brandeth said: 'As soon as he heard the unfortunate man had suffered a heart attack, he quickly scribbled on a piece of paper and passed the note down to his exhorts to say he's done some first-aid training and would be keen to offer some help.' It has been reported that William - who is the president of Football Association - delayed presenting the winning trophy for 10 minutes, as he was comforting David's distraught son, Gary. The compassionate royal, apparently, told the distressed man, 'Anything I can do to help, please feel free to ask.' A royal spokesman refused to comment on the alleged events.Copyright 2006 BANG Media International
