Britain's Prince Harry fulfills childhood dream
Jul 10, 2006, 12:54 GMT
Britain's Prince Harry fulfilled his childhood dream, as he drove an army tank for the first time yesterday (09.07.06).
The 21-year-old royal appeared thrilled, as he got behind the wheel of the armoured reconnaissance vehicle, after having completed his initial troop leader's training course at Bovington Army Training Camp in Dorset, South England.
Harry - who will eventually have 11 soldiers under his command - donned a commander's helmet and a communications device, as he officially embarked on his course. According to Britain's Daily Mail newspaper, Harry will learn to drive, command and maintain the combat vehicle - known as CVR. After completing his tank course, the young royal - who has expressed passion for 'all things military' - will have to master gunnery and live shooting. Meanwhile, Harry has reportedly been banned from his favourite London nightclub - following an alcohol-fuelled incident. According to reports, the fun-loving prince has been advised to stay away from Boujis club in South London, after a fight erupted outside the nightspot last week, while Harry was partying inside. A source was quoted in Britain's The Mail On Sunday newspaper as saying: 'It was very uncomfortable for Harry and his friends knowing that, while they had been partying downstairs, there was a nasty fight going on outside. 'Harry loves to party, which poses huge problems for his Royal protection officers, and when this sort of trouble kicks off so close to him, it makes the situation even more difficult.' Harry's partying lifestyle has also been blamed for alleged bust-ups with his South African girlfriend of two years, Chelsy Davy. The couple reportedly had an argument after Harry was spotted on the night of the incident at Boujis, allegedly kissing an old flame - 27-year-old TV presented Natalie Pinkham.Copyright 2006 BANG Media International
