Prince Charles' lucky save
Jul 7, 2006, 16:46 GMT
Britain's Prince Charles came to the rescue of a loyal subject, who fell to her knees in front of him.
The incident happened while the prince and his wife - Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla Parker Bowles - were visiting a primary school in Wales yesterday (06.07.06).
The royal couple were greeted by 63-year-old Lady Lieutenant Shan Legge-Bourke, who accidentally slipped on the gravel outside the school. However, she escaped unhurt when, according to Britain's The Sun newspaper, Charles quickly caught her in his arms and helped her to her feet. Shan Legge-Bourke - an old friend of the royal family - is the mother of prince William and prince Harry's former nanny, Tiggy. Charles and Camilla were visiting Cwmdu primary school, near Crickhowell, as part of their four day tour of his principality of Wales. The heir to the throne and his wife have been following a busty schedule during their visit to Wales. Their frequent engagements have also helped quash rumours of arguments between them, about Camilla's participation in Royal visits. The pair - who married in April last year - allegedly fell out because Camilla is refusing to take on a bigger role in the public life. According to reports, Charles wants his wife to take on more Royal duties, but she insists on keeping a relatively low profile. After one recent bust-up, Camilla reportedly stormed out of their London home and cancelled several engagements, including a lunch at the couple's Highgrove home and a private function at the Royal Opera House in London.Copyright 2006 BANG Media International
