Britain's Prince Philip brands Olympics 'nuisance'
Jul 5, 2006, 16:01 GMT
Britain's Prince Philip thinks the 2012 Olympics will be a 'bloody nuisance.'
The Duke of Edinburgh is to be involved in the opening and closing ceremonies, when London hosts the Olympic event.
As a part of his royal duties, Philip is to assist his wife, Britain's Queen Elizabeth II, at the event. However, the 85-year-old royal apparently is not keen on the grand task. He was quoted on Canada News website as saying: 'I am truly fed up with the opening and closing ceremonies. They are a pain in the neck. Absolute bloody nuisances. I haven't been to one that wasn't absolutely, appallingly awful.' When asked what he will do at the Olympic Games, the unenthusiastic prince replied: 'as little as possible.'Copyright 2006 BANG Media International
