Britain's Queen Elizabeth II meets with Baltic Presidents

Britain's Queen Elizabeth II will meet Presidents of Estonia and Lithuania in Scotland today (04.07.06).
According to The Baltic Times newspaper, both Presidents arrived in the UK earlier this week.
Leader of Estonia, Arnold Ruutel arrived in Edinburgh on Sunday (02.07.06) and President of Lithuania, Valdas Adamkus, flew in late last nigh from a four-day visit to the United Sates. Arnold Ruutel - who is accompanied by his wife Ingrid - is set to tour Edinburgh Castle today and, in the afternoon, the couple will visit the Glenkinchie Whisky Distillery. The guests will be accompanied by Scottish Environment and Rural Development Minister Ross Finie, who will also introduce them to local businessmen. Ruutel also intends to meet the leader of the Estonian Community in Scotland, Dr Pille Peterson. Estonia's President's visit will be sealed with a dinner at the Queen's official Scottish residence on Monday night. Meanwhile, Lithuania's president Valdas Adamkus is set to meet members of the Scottish parliament today and, later in the afternoon, attend a photographic exhibition by Lithuanian artist Antanas Sutkus. The Queen is scheduled to travel to the Baltic States in October. Her trip will mark the first time a British monarch has visited the former Soviet region.Copyright 2006 BANG Media International
