Britain's Prince Charles and Camilla visit Wales
Jul 4, 2006, 15:49 GMT
Britain's Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla Parker Bowles, put rumours of a tiff behind them, as they made their annual visit to Wales yesterday (03.07.06).
The royal couple looked relaxed, as they smiled and waved to the hundreds of supporters, who had turned up to welcome them to Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion.
John Turbervill, who showed the couple around Wales' last Georgian chapel, laughed off rumours of ill feeling between the pair. He said was quoted in Britain's Daily Mail newspaper as saying: 'They seemed quite happy together.' It has been alleged that Charles and Camilla have had a string of blazing rows about her royal duties. Camilla - who is still grieving after the death of her father last month - is said to be upset over the number of royal engagement she is expected to keep, and has recently cancelled a series of high-profile appearances. Despite the rumours, the couple appeared to be enjoying their visit and laughed as they fired shots from homemade catapults at the Prince's Trust Cymru activity Centre. Later they took a helicopter to Cardigan Castle, where the Prince's Trust Regeneration Trust is working on a project with the Local Building Renovation Trust. The last stop of the day was St Thomas' Church in St Dogmaels, where they attended a service to mark the queen's 80th birthday.Copyright 2006 BANG Media International
