Britain's Prince Charles rows with wife over royal duties
Jul 3, 2006, 23:13 GMT
Britain's Prince Charles and his wife Camilla have reportedly had a string of blazing rows about her royal duties.
The pair - who married in April last year (05) - allegedly fell out because Camilla is refusing to take on a bigger role in the public life.
According to Britain's News of the World newspaper, Charles wants his spouse to make more appearances around the country, but she insists on keeping a relatively low profile. After one recent bust-up, Camilla reportedly stormed out of their London home and cancelled several engagements, including a lunch at the couple's Highgrove home and a private function at the Royal Opera House in London. A royal source was quoted as saying: 'These rows have been building up. Four weeks ago they had an almighty argument at Highgrove. It got so bad that Charles kicked out at an expensive chair and it broke into several pieces. 'Charles always likes to get his own way. He hasn't been backing down in any of these arguments. The tension has been like a ticking timebomb. Now it's finally gone off.' The insider added: 'Camilla doesn't want to do any more engagements than she already does. She has spent most of her life as a normal person and doesn't want to be thrust into the spotlight at her age.'Copyright 2006 BANG Media International
