Has anyone seen the painting....No?.....How can anyone announce it to be gross, lewd, distasteful or any such thing without viewing the art in question first. I've made two responses on here, from which you've ASSUMED means i'm British. I'm an American! Hello. But at least I know enough about British royalty to know that regardless of personal differences, the British Royals must uphold to certain standards and that said painting is very subpar, solely based on the subject matter of Prince William and his 'nudity' alone.
Yes he is an adult and can make up his own mind, however he IS of royal blood, and therefore must act accordingly at all times, no matter what he'd rather be doing. Even he himself will attest to that, i'm sure.

These posts are really quite fascinating. Here we have quite a few people, presumably young women, who are so shocked and disgusted at Kate's painting that one person went so far as to call it 'soft porn' - what does that say to a reasonable person? That these people are pining over someone who will never lay a finger on them and they are so jealous of Kate Middleton that it makes them physically ill.
Prince William and Kate Middleton most likely have a sexual relationship. They are both adults, regardless of their roles, and they are entitled to express their love for one another any way they wish. It is not the business of the tabloids or the public, and their relationship does not deserve such scrutiny. And if she's talented enough to paint such a picture, then God bless her for her commitment and dedication.

You can pose for a picture you are painting. All you need is a mirror or a photograph. That is how people paint self portraits. BUT who cares if she posed for it. They do to do things we do not know about. Last I heard, the stalkerazzi were not allowed to follow him around at school or even when he is out. They are only allowed so much. No, I am not an expert on The Royals nor do I claim to be. I have only been interested in them for about a year, but they have links to newspaper articles on them on the fansites. What I have read about them would not suggest otherwise.

I looked at it from a mature, responsible point of view. That whole painting issue should've been kept PRIVATE, but since it wasn't, and was made public, EVERYONE has the right to comment. Commenting on something such as the nudity of a public figurehead, such as Prince William DOES NOT mean we're all just dying to get into bed and sleep with the guy! So he's rich, big deal. So he's famous, woohooo. He's a person just like everyone else, no matter his social status or sex appeal. However, the flipside of his social status is what we've all tried to keep in perspective here, if you'd taken the time to read what was written instead of twisting words to justify your own set beliefs and opinions. I've said it before and i'll say it again: certain standards and conduct are a MUST at ALL times when you are of a certain social status, as the British Royal family is.
So, in closing, think what you will. Say what you want. Believe as you wish. But...for once, don't ASSUME we're all just out to bash Kate and steal the Prince for ourselves! *laughs* That's simply not the case. I think it's a fabulous imaginative gift, by a very bright and gifted girl. Unfortunately she has an army of princess wannabe's lining up to knock her down every time she sneezes. Once she was bullied at school, now she's sitting phat in her crib. Nuff respect.
I personally do not envy Kate, I want to be Will. I want power, money, and privilege. I do not want to get it by sleeping with or even marrying someone. Anyways, I am going with the Old Testament ideal of God. I am a Judo- Christian theologian. I have a problem with a lot of Church traditions, doctrine, and interpretation. According to the OT, God is actually a very round, complex supernatural being. Jesus actually was not poor. This is church doctrine not scripture. He had patrons. Even if he did not have money, as a religious leader his meals 'would have been paid for.' Hospitality was a big deal in the ancient Middle East.

What I said about Hitler is true. I am a History Major and I studied Nazi German last seminar. What you said is also true. Hitler did kill more people than just the Jews. Think timeline first he got into power, then 'exiled' all the Jewish professors. He then waited for the perfect excuse to really oppose the Jews.

for starters, kate did not flip off reporters, rather she was making a 'V' symbol to show support for richard branson (and his company, virgin). secondly, i can understand people getting upset about the painting. it's all dependant uppon whether or not your into art. some of the greatest paintings and statues are nude. the david, the sistine chapel, and so many more. some (most) people are disturbed by nude images until they realize that it's no big deal. that's how i was until i grew more accustomed to art. it's synonymous to young children giggling and sniggering during science glass during human development and procreation chapters.for all of you that think it's something repulsive, do NOT, by any means, go into an art museum of any kind. you will likely be repulsed away. :-D get over yourself.
