Princes join Charles and Camilla at father's funeral
Jun 16, 2006, 16:41 GMT
London - Britain's princes William and Harry joined their stepmother, the Duchess of Cornwall, the former Camilla Parker Bowles, at the funeral of her father Friday.
Major Bruce Shand, a former cavalry officer and highly-decorated veteran of World War II, died aged 89 last Sunday.
The Duchess, dressed in black, was accompanied by her husband, Prince Charles, and her two grown-up children, Laura and Tom, from her previous marriage to Household Cavalry officer Andrew Parker Bowles.
Camilla, who lost her mother 11 years ago, was said to be very close to her father who stood by her throughout the turbulent years of her long extra-marital relationship with Prince Charles.
The presence at the funeral of Charles' sons, William, 23, and Harry, 21, was seen as a further sign of their much-normalized relationship with their stepmother since the death of Princess Diana in 1997.
