Britain's Prince Charles' tell-all book fight
Jun 15, 2006, 16:10 GMT
Britain's Prince Charles is facing another battle over a tell-all diary.
The heir to the British throne is preparing to take legal action - to prevent his former secretary, Sarah Goodall, from publishing a book entitled 'The Palace Diaries: The True Story of Life Behind The Palace Gates'.
A source was quoted in Britain's Daily Mail newspaper as saying:'The prince's lawyers are looking into the possibility of legal action at the moment and have asked to see a copy of the book to see how damaging it is, before they consider the big guns in. 'Sarah signed several confidentiality agreements during her employment so they are very keen to see what she has written.' Goodall was employed at the palace for 12 years. According to reports, the former secretary claims in her controversial book that she was fired from the Palace because Charles' wife - Duchess of York, Camilla Parker Bowles - was jealous of her close friendship with the prince. She also plans to reveal all about the break-up of her boss's marriage to the late Princess Diana. A synopsis for the tome reads: 'The Palace Diaries is a hilarious account of a young woman's life spent in the Royal Household of the Prince of Wales. It will titillate and delight in equal measure.' Reportedly, Charles was left fuming last year, after copies of his personal diaries - in which he labelled Chinese officials 'appalling old waxworks' - were leaked by a former servant and extracts published in a British Sunday newspaper.Copyright 2006 BANG Media International
