Britain's Prince Harry's army ambition
Jun 13, 2006, 14:57 GMT
Britain's Prince Harry wants to be the first Royal Family member to serve with the SAS.
According to The Royalist website, Harry is desperate to join the most respected regiment in the British Army and prove he can complete the punishing training.
To qualify, Harry will undergo a month-long parachute training course at Catterick in North Yorkshire, England, next year (07). If he successfully completes the introductory Parachute Regiment's Pegasus course, he will begin full parachute-training. Once the course is finished, the 21-year-old will be bale to fulfill his ambition to be an SAS soldier. A source said: 'There is an airborne element to the Household Calvary and Prince Harry is likely to join it.' During the preparation course, Harry is to undergo series of gruelling tasks including carrying heavy backpacks, while completing treks. The prince - who is third in line to the throne - is presently on a troop commander training course at the Royal Armoured Corps Centre in Dorset, South West England. Harry made his first parachute jump last month, after his girlfriend, Chelsy Davy, dared him to do it. Chelsy had been teasing the prince since she did a jump on her 20th birthday last November (05) and challenged Harry to repeat the stunt. One source said: 'Chelsy dared Harry to do it and he told her that anything she could do, he could.' Harry made the 10,000ft jump near Cape Town, South Africa, where the couple were enjoying a romantic break.Copyright 2006 BANG Media International

I think that that is very respectable, and I am proud of him for doing that.
