Jun 8, 2006, 15:23 GMT
Britain's Prince Charles is to host an official reception for the relatives of July 7 victims at his home.
Guests of next Monday's (12.06.06) event will include families of people killed in London bombings last year and those injured in the terrorist attack, which killed 52 people and injured 700.
A private reception for more than 200 guests will be hosted by the prince and Duchess of Cornwall in the grounds of their Highgrove House in Gloucestershire. A source was quoted in Britain's the Guardian newspaper as saying: 'Charles and Camilla will introduce themselves to the families and offer their hospitality at what we hope will be an enjoyable event.' Charles organised the event to show his support for the families and wanted the relatives to meet before the official remembrance next month. Kim Beer, who lost a son during the July 7 bombings, praised the prince for his personal interest in those affected by the attack. She said: 'When my son first died he wrote to us, to every single family that lost someone. He wrote personally and it was very touching. The actual anniversary is going to be very difficult.' This is not the first reception Charles has organised for victims of terrorist attacks The royal has hosted events for relatives of those who died in September 11 attacks, as well as the Bali bombings.Copyright 2006 BANG Media International
