Queen opens memorial
May 5, 2006, 15:08 GMT
The Queen of England will visit a memorial garden for her late sister Princess Margaret for the first time this week.
Queen Elizabeth - who turned 80 last month - will officially open the memorial at the Rothermere American Institute in Oxford, England.
The stunning garden was created by hotel and clothes designer Anouska Hempel. The monarch will meet Ms Hempel and the organisation's trustees before opening the memorial. Dr Paul Giles, director of the institute, is quoted by the Oxford Mail as saying: 'The wonderfully designed garden will provide both a social and a tranquil contemplative space, as well as being a fitting memorial to Princess Margaret.' The queen will also visit the Oxford University Press' Oxford Dictionary of National Biography during her tour of the city. She will officially open the Oxford Castle development and unveil a plaque.Copyright 2006 BANG Media International
