London - A letter signed jointly by Britain's Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana to a hospital nurse who treated Prince William after a golfing accident at school when he was 8 years old was auctioned for 1,182 pounds (2,103 dollars) Tuesday.
Bidding was brisk for the 'Thank you' letter, which had attracted international interest, auctioneers Cottees in Wareham, in the southern county of Dorset, said.
William, now 23, was treated at London's Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children following his accident on June 3, 1991.
Charles and Diana divorced in 1996. A year later, Princess Diana died in a car crash in Paris with her lover, Dodi al Fayed, heir to the Egyptian owner of Harrod's department store in London.
