Spanish royal couple to begin state visit to Jordan Monday

Amman - Spain's King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia are due to arrive in the Jordanian capital Amman Monday at the start of a three- day state visit at the invitation of King Abdullah and Queen Rania, the Jordanian Royal Court announced Sunday.
During the visit, the Spanish monarch will hold talks with Jordanian leaders on 'ways of boosting bilateral relations between Amman and Madrid in all spheres and the latest political developments in the region and the world at large,' the statement said.
The Spanish monarch is also scheduled to deliver a speech at a Jordanian-Spanish business gathering, 'stressing the importance of developing bilateral ties between the two countries in the economic, commercial and investment spheres,' it added.
