Britain's Prince Charles will pay a loving tribute to his mother as she celebrates her 80th birthday on Friday (21.04.06).
The heir to the British throne is expected to speak of the way his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, has served the country for more than half a decade when he gives the televised message.
Viewers will also see the royal praising the way the monarch raised him, according to a report in Britain's Daily Telegraph newspaper. Earlier this month, Charles and his wife Camilla celebrated their first wedding anniversary. The couple, who married at Windsor Guildhall last year, enjoyed a quiet break in the Scottish countryside to mark the occasion, returning to their honeymoon destination of Birkhall, near Balmoral. Charles and Camilla - who recently returned from a trip to India, Egypt and Saudi Arabia - looked relaxed as they attended a service at Crathie Parish Church. The prince wore a kilt made of blue and red Balmoral tartan, while the elegant duchess dressed in a skirt and jacket by one of her favourite designers, Roy Allen. Local resident Jean Gunner told Britain's Daily Mail newspaper: 'Camilla is absolutely super. 'She's warm and down to earth, and it is a great asset to the country to see them looking so happy.'Copyright 2006 BANG Media International
