Prince William's public affection

Britain's Prince William got a tender kiss from girlfriend Kate Middleton at the weekend (18.03.06), after returning to his old school for a sports match.

The young couple looked loved-up after William, 23, returned to his Eton play for the old boys' side in its ancient Field Game.

Friends said Kate and William's relationship is going from strength to strength.

A member of the crowd is quoted in Britain's Daily Mail newspaper as saying: 'They looked so comfortable with each other. When the match was over William gave her a hug and she immediately placed her hand on the small of his back.

'It was clear for everyone to see they're perfect for each other and appear perfectly at ease.

'They're clearly enjoying each other's company and after four years together they're obviously very much in love.'

William took a break from Army training to attend the Field Game - a cross between rugby, football and hockey - before heading back to Sandhurst Military Academy.

The day before, 23-year-old Kate was invited by Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall to join them at Cheltenham races.

Charles is said to be very fond of Kate and Camilla has taken her under her wing to advise her on handling life as a royal girlfriend.
