Prince Charles on faith
Mar 8, 2006, 16:12 GMT
Britain's Prince Charles claimed that faith can unify people during a visit to community centres in Bedford yesterday (07.03.06).
The prince said: 'To me, the secret is faith in a world that does not have any. Otherwise the only religion is science, which seems to be a bit inadequate.'
Charles praised the Queen Park's Inter-Faith Initiative. He said the initiative - which brings together the ethnically diverse including Pakistanis, Bangladeshi and Indians - was a 'wonderful example to this part of the world.' The Rev Jay McLeod, an inter-faith adviser, said of the prince: 'He really understands, in a way that sometimes Government does not, how the faith communities can be a force for good and bring communities together - he is clearly comfortable talking about faith.' The prince also went on to tour the £6 million restoration project on the 18th Century stately home, Moggerhanger Park.Copyright 2006 BANG Media International
