Feb 21, 2006, 17:38 GMT
Britain's Prince Charles spoke out in support of troubled youngsters dismissed as 'thugs' yesterday, as he was joined by a host of stars to celebrate the success of his charity the Prince's Trust.
Joseph Fiennes, Pierce Brosnan, Jade Jagger, Gary Lineker, Jenson Button and Will Young gathered to recognise young people who have overcome adversity.
The award ceremony at the Theatre Royal in London kick-started the trust's 30th anniversary celebrations. The Prince of Wales said many youngsters who were labelled 'youths, hoodies or thugs' were not nameless and faceless, but were individuals who he hoped could lead fulfilling lives. He was joined by the Duchess of Cornwall, whom he described as his 'darling wife'.prince Charles said: 'I still believe that every young person has some talent or ability and that too many go through life without this ever being discovered.'
The royal set up the charity in 1976 with his severance pay from the Royal Navy. During the celebrations, he and wife Camilla were presented with a book containing 30 letters from young people helped over the years by the organisation. They also met Pauline O'Halloran, who was the first ever person supported by the charity. In 1976, she was given a grant to set up a youth centre on an estate in east London.Copyright 2006 BANG Media International

so sorry to hear about poor Prince Charles getting a hounding yet again, seems no matter how he tries to be a good person, he gets pelters, his ex aide should be imprisoned, as a traitor, Im sure Charles wouldnt have did anything like this to him ever. The Prince does so much for caring about the environment, and his charities of which he takes very seroiously, so good luck to him and all the good work he s striving to do. Mrs Donna Robertson.
