Princess Anne's passion for food
Feb 16, 2006, 17:55 GMT
Britain's Princess Anne is so keen on Italian food she has been snubbing the official diners at the winter Olympics - causing strife for her bodyguards.
The princess is determined to try the local food during her stay in Turin and has been dropping in on neighborhood restaurants.
But Anne's bodyguards have complained that her insistence to be allowed to go where she chooses is giving them only moments to check the security of the venues. A member of the Italian police team said: 'She wants to try all the local dishes which, for us, is a total nightmare.' But her relaxed approach to the event - which she is attending as a member of the International Olympic Committee - has been welcomed by locals.Copyright 2006 BANG Media International
