More than 70 per cent of Britons think Prince William is too young to marry, according to an online poll.
The majority of people asked think the 24-year-old prince is too young to settle down - despite reports that the he is planning to propose to long-term girlfriend Kate Middleton.
The poll - conducted for the online edition of Britain's Hello magazine - shows that almost 30 per cent think the William should marry because 'Kate is good for him'. The young prince has been dating the beautiful brunette since the pair met whilst studying at St Andrews University in Scotland. They have been together for three years and rumours of a proposal are rife. But sources close to William insist he will not rush in to marriage. They claim the prince - who has reportedly pledged at least four years to the military - will not consider proposing to Kate until he leaves the army. A source told Britain's The People newspaper: 'William finds all the talk of an imminent engagement laughable. 'He takes his relationship with Kate extremely seriously. But he knows his service career will occupy most of his time. He does not wish to play the field - he simply does not believe in pledging his future to somebody he then ends up spending very little time with.' Meanwhile, William is taking his girlfriend on a romantic Scottish holiday to celebrate Valentine's Day. He will take Kate to a remote cottage on the edge of the Balmoral estate, which belongs to his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II. The handsome royal was given the secluded house by the Queen Mother before she died.Copyright 2006 BANG Media International
