Prince William enjoys abseiling in mock mountain rescue
Dec 12, 2005, 15:48 GMT
London - Britain's Prince William Monday carried out a mock mountain rescue attempt abseiling down a rock face in the Welsh mountains in full view of TV cameras.
The 23-year-old, kitted out in a grey hard hat and climbing gear, perfected a precarious 70 metre drop as part of his current work experience with the Royal Airforce (RAF).
He was one of several novices using Holyhead Mountain in North Wales, on the south west coast of Britain, to practise emergency life-saving skills.
After reaching the bottom safely, William said to waiting photographers: 'You're just waiting for me to fall over, aren't you?'
The Prince is due to join the army in January, when he takes up officer cadet training at Sandhurst military academy.
