Sergeant orders Prince Harry to show tattoo
Oct 27, 2005, 13:49 GMT
Britain's Prince Harry was ordered to bare his butt at an Army parade - because military seniors thought he had his girlfriend's name tattooed onto his bottom.
A sergeant at the world-renowned Sandhurst Military Academy - where the young royal is enrolled on the officer training programme - reportedly heard the prince had got the name 'Chelsy Davy' inked on to his behind.
Rumours the third in line to the British throne had his blonde, Zimbawean-born girlfriend's name on his royal rear had already spread among his fellow cadets.
While the young prince paraded with his comrades, the sergeant suddenly shouted: "Cadet Wales, drop your pants and show me your backside!"
The stunned 21-year-old is said to have replied: "Are you serious?"
The official then shouted: "Just get them off, I want to see if it's true."
Sources claim embarrassed Harry started to remove his Army trousers, but the sergeant smiled and told him he would accept his word on the matter.
A source from the prince's platoon is quoted in Britain's The Sun newspaper as saying: "It was the funniest thing any of us had seen for ages. Everyone had heard the rumour but no one wanted to ask Harry if it was true. Then one of the colour sergeants decided to play a trick on Harry in front of the whole platoon."
He added: "You should have seen Harry's face. We all fell about laughing. Harry blushed, then he also laughed."
