No Diana questions for Prince Charles
Oct 17, 2005, 13:32 GMT
Britain's Prince Charles has banned an interviewer from asking him questions about ex-wife Princess Diana when he appears on TV next month.
The royal is set to be interviewed on US show '60 Minutes' to launch his and new wife Camilla's American tour - and has allegedly insisted his former wife isn't mentioned.
A source told Britain's Sunday Express newspaper: "Charles is making every effort to try to replace her in people's affections with Camilla. That is clearly why he was at pains to insist that Diana's name not be mentioned. "To put it bluntly, it was made obvious that the late Diana, even as a subject of discussion, is dead and buried."
The prince - who will tour New York, Washington DC and San Francisco with Camilla - is said to have told the TV network CBS he would only agree to the one-off show if it focused on his work - not his private life.
The programme will be the prince's first major TV interview for more than 10 years.
The heir to the British throne gave his last significant TV interview with Jonathan Dimbleby in 1994 when he confessed to committing adultery with his now wife, Camilla Parker-Bowles.
At the time he vowed never to give another televised interview after it backfired and triggered a public row with Princess Diana.
