Oct 5, 2005, 13:38 GMT
Britain's Queen Elizabeth is planning a visit to Scotland's Royal Aberdeen Children's Hospital.
The monarch will meet staff and patients at the hospital before unveiling a plaque.
After completing her trip, the queen will travel to a new £2.5 million curling rink where she will be able to view the development's progress. During her tour of Curl Aberdeen - which is used by the British Olympic squad - the queen will meet with members of the world women's senior champions team.
The British monarch - who is patron of the Royal Caledonian Curling Society - will also watch while young children join in initiatives designed to encourage youngsters to take up the sport.
Organisers have also asked the queen to present honorary membership to a local man who has given great service to curling over many years.
After touring the rink, the queen will join 120 chosen guests at a civic lunch.
