Prince Harry known as the Red Baron at Sandhurst
Oct 3, 2005, 12:10 GMT
Britain's Prince Harry is nicknamed the Red Baron at Sandhurst military academy, insiders have revealed.
The young royal, who recently celebrated his 21st birthday, has reportedly been given the moniker - after the German World War One warplane - by fellow cadets because of his red hair, German roots and controversial Nazi costume, which he wore to a recent fancy dress party.
A Sandhurst source revealed to Britain's Sunday Mirror newspaper: "Everyone's having a good laugh at him.
"A lot of people call him the German - people's heritage is important at a place like this - and the Red Baron tag has stuck because it suits him.
"Harry is a good lad and takes it in his stride when people wind him up." Last month, Harry was reportedly banned from having a fancy dress party to celebrate his 21st birthday.
Following his costume faux pas earlier this year, when he dressed as a Nazi, the young royal was told by his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, that his official birthday bash had to be formal dress only.
