Prince Harry left little by Queen Mother
Sep 26, 2005, 11:38 GMT
Britain's Prince Harry was reportedly left "a pittance" in the Queen Mother's will for his recent 21st birthday.
Despite reports claiming the young royal was to receive £2.5million from his late great-grandmother, sources now claim he was left relatively little - to prevent him living a playboy lifestyle.
A royal insider revealed to Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "Obviously there is a concern that a large independent income at the age of 21 would not have been good for him.
"The last thing the family wants is for Prince Harry to become some kind of playboy. His father, Prince Charles, wants him to grow up as a responsible adult."
Harry's older brother, Prince William, is also said to have received "no substantial amounts" from the Queen Mother's will.
Harry recently revealed big brother William is his closest confidante. The red-haired royal, who is dating South African beauty Chelsy Davy, says his older sibling is the only person he can talk to about anything and everything.
He said in an interview to mark his birthday: "He is the one person on this earth who I can actually, really. We can talk about anything. We understand each other and we give each other support."
