No fancy dress for Prince Harry
Sep 13, 2005, 13:35 GMT
Britain's Prince Harry has reportedly been banned from having a fancy dress party to celebrate his 21st birthday.
Following his recent costume faux pas earlier this year, when he dressed as a Nazi, the young royal has been told by his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, that his official birthday bash must be formal dress only.
According to Britain's Sunday Times newspaper, the Queen will throw a lavish party for Harry later this year at Windsor Castle.
Although the prince turns 21 on Thursday (15.09.05), the monarch is waiting until he has finished his training at Sandhurst military academy before she organises his official celebrations.
Earlier this month, it was claimed Harry's father, Prince Charles, has ordered his youngest son not to throw a wild party for his 21st birthday. The young royal courted controversy earlier this year when he wore a German army uniform and a Nazi swastika armband at a fancy dress party, and he later heaped more shame on his family when he was linked to a scuffle
outside a London club after a drunken night out.
Charles is keen for his son to stay out of trouble, and has limited his son to a low-key gathering of close friends and family.
A friend of Harry said recently: "Harry loves a good party and is very frustrated that his father has forbidden him from holding his own.
"He is angry that he is about to turn 21, an age at which he can legally make all his own decisions and yet he's still under strict instructions.
"He's apologised about the embarrassment he has caused his family and he's not sure what he can do to win back trust."
