Prince William sends romantic texts to Kate Middleton
Aug 17, 2005, 18:20 GMT
Britain's Prince William has allegedly been caught sending a "slightly saucy" text message to girlfriend Kate Middleton.
A hotel worker has confessed to reading personal text message on William and Kate's mobile phones when the smitten couple left them lying on their hotel bed when they went out for the day during a recent holiday.
According to Britain's Daily Mail newspaper, the staff member claims to have found loving messages the pair had sent to each other.
A source revealed: "The texts were actually quite innocent and touching.
There was only one slightly saucy one, from William on Kate's mobile phone. It was rather sweet really, with just a hint of the risqué about it. No one would be shocked."
Kate was recently invited to dinner with William's grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.
The invitation to dinner at Balmoral Castle will be hugely significant for the 23-year-old beauty, who many believe is ideal marriage material for the young prince.
Her presence at such an intimate gathering will fuel speculation that an engagement is imminent but a royal aide said that the Queen's dinner invitation should not be misinterpreted.
The prince met his girlfriend whilst studying at St Andrew's University in 2001 and they have been an item ever since.
Kate and William have spent have stayed many times at Tam-na-Ghar, the prince's cottage on the Balmoral estate. But this is the first time Kate has been invited inside the castle.
Meanwhile, the recent decision by William's father, Prince Charles, to let Kate share his son's apartment at Clarence House, shows they are now accepted as a serious couple.
