Prince Harry's friend may appear on UK TV show
Aug 16, 2005, 14:35 GMT
The best friend of Britain's Prince Harry has reportedly been offered £50,000 to appear on reality TV show, 'I'm A Celebrity. Get Me Out of Here'.
Guy Pelly, 23, is said to be very excited about the opportunity to appear on the show - which sees stars compete in a series of grueling challenges to become King or Queen of the Jungle - and hopes it will launch a showbiz career.
Pelly has been present at many of the Harry's drunken nights out and was accused of introducing the young prince to cannabis.
He was also with Harry when he made the unwise decision to wear a Nazi uniform at a fancy dress party earlier this year.
Royal aides are said to be horrified that the Pelly could end spilling the prince's secrets on TV.
One told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Pelly has been a very, very bad influence on Harry. The last thing we would want is him on wall-to-wall TV talking about the prince."
Friends of Pelly, who is unemployed, say he is not as bad as he is portrayed and believe he could be trusted to be discrete about the prince.
'I'm A Celebrity.' bosses said: "We have been approaching potential contestants, but it is still early days."
