Britain's Queen invites Sarah Ferguson on holiday
Aug 11, 2005, 12:36 GMT
Britain's Queen Elizabeth II has invited her former daughter-in-law, Sarah Ferguson, on a royal holiday for the first time in 13 years.
The Duchess of York - who upset the monarch with her infamous toe-sucking affair in 1992, which led to her divorce from Prince Andrew - has traditionally been snubbed by the Royal family when they gathered for their annual break at the Queen's Balmoral home in Scotland.
But this year the red-haired mother-of-two has joined her ex-husband and daughters Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie on the holiday.
The family were spotted looking happy and relaxed as they arrived at Scotland's Aberdeen airport on Tuesday (09.08.05).
An insider told Britain's The Sun newspaper: "Fergie has been waiting for this for more than a decade. She may only be at Balmoral for a few days but it's a huge climbdown by senior royals and marks a turning point for the whole family."
Sarah and Andrew's eldest daughter, Beatrice, celebrated her 17th birthday on Monday (08.08.05).
