Queen Elizabeth II turns down new Jaguar car offer
Aug 2, 2005, 16:11 GMT
Britain's Queen Elizabeth II reportedly turned down the offer of a new Jaguar car - because her seven Corgis wouldn't like it.
The pet-loving monarch is said to have feared her beloved dogs would find the luxury car uncomfortable, according to a report in Britain's Daily Mail newspaper.
Her four-legged friends are said to enjoy curling up on the parcel shelf in the back of the car, and the vehicle didn't have enough room for all seven of them to fit happily.
The Queen, who is known throughout the world as a great dog lover, instead opted for the firm's Daimler Super Eight limousine, which offers plenty of room for both her and her pooches.
Sources close to the palace have reportedly said the Queen is delighted with the plush £80,000 car - the first of its kind in Britain - which offers more shelf space and luxurious bedding as well as a sophisticated multi-media entertainment system.
