Ashlee Simpson calls Britney Spears 'trashy'

Pop singer and soon-to-be Mrs. Pete Wentz, Ashlee Simpson called Britney Spears trashy in a recent London radio interview.

The trap that tripped up Miz Simpson was a tutorial on Cockney rhyming slang during a recent visit to the U.K.

Simpson was queried over the phrase, "You've had one-too-many Britney Spears."

In rhyming slang, many tmes the last word in the phrase must rhyme with its intended real meaning. Example: "trouble and strife" means "wife."

Too many Britney Spears means drinking too much beer, yet Simpson gamely offered her guess.  It was wrong.

While on the British music show The Nokia Green Room, she said, "I was like, 'Oh, you've had one too many trashy girls!' And I was like, 'Oh my god, I can't believe I just said that!'

"It was really bad, I felt horrible."
