Jessica Alba used to be a "grown-up in a child's body".

The Hollywood beauty has been an "independent woman" since she was just three, and says her mature outlook made her childhood "tough".

She said: "If I could go back and change any of my life I would omit my teens. They were really tough.

"I was always a grown-up in a child's body, in my mind - incredibly opinionated, strong-willed, very independent.

"I'm on videotape when I was three talking about being an independent woman! Then when I was a teenager it was a little bit paralysing because I felt I was an adult but I didn't have any rights as an adult."

Despite enjoying success with movies like 'Sin City' and 'Fantastic Four', Jessica recently admitted she still has to fight to be taken seriously in Hollywood.

She said: "I want to be considered as a serious actress. I just hope all my new work will help producers in getting past my hotness."

The 26-year-old actress recently revealed she is expecting her first child with long-term partner Cash Warren.
