Josh Hartnett's Rihanna riddle

Josh Hartnett has refused to deny rumors he is romancing Rihanna.

The 'Black Dahlia' star was caught off-guard when asked if he had shared a steamy embrace with the 'Umbrella' singer, insisting he wouldn't answer questions about his love life.

When asked if he had been kissing Rihanna, Josh stuttered: "Whoa, whoa, whoa! No, no, no. Come on you guys! This is - uh - we weren't supposed to talk about these things were we?

"I can't really respond to things like that because if I start responding to them everybody will want a response on anything."

He added during an interview on US TV series 'The Morning Show with Mike and Juliet': "Half, no 95 per cent of the stuff written about me is not true.

"For the record, I was born in Minnesota, not San Francisco like everyone says."

Josh and Rihanna were spotted "kissing and cuddling" as they drank Dom Perignon champagne at New York nightspot Pink Elephant last week (11.10.07).

A source said: "They spent the evening drinking together and there was lots of kissing and cuddling. It was very intimate.

"They didn't come together but they did leave together!"

Josh, 29, has previously been linked to 'Black Dahlia' co-star Scarlett Johansson and supermodel Helena Christensen.

Rihanna, 19, was recently said to be dating 'Transformers' star Shia LaBeouf, but friends claimed she wasn't ready for a committed relationship.

A source said: "Rihanna is really busy with her career at the moment and just wants to have some fun. She isn't ready for anything serious."
