From Monsters and Critics.com People News Sarah Jessica Parker's friends are shocked she doesn't own many clothes. The actress - who played fashion-conscious columnist Carrie Bradshaw in hit US series 'Sex and the City' - insists she isn't a huge shopper and dresses for comfort not style. Sarah - who has a four-year-old son James with husband Matthew Broderick - said: "A couple of friends came over recently and they looked in my closet and said, 'Wow! You're right! You don't have a lot of clothes!' I'm not a shopper although I do tend to splurge on shoes." Despite claiming not to be a trend setter, Sarah admits playing eccentric dresser Carrie has allowed her personal style to evolve. She said: "I didn't pay that much attention before, but now I feel I have to measure up in a certain way to Carrie's tastes. If I've learned anything, it's that there shouldn't be rules. I always matched everything, because I thought that was ladylike. Then the 'Sex and the City' stylist Patricia Field got hold of me!"
