George Clooney accepts award in Los Angeles

George Clooney was out and about in Los Angeles on Saturday to accept the Los Angeles Film Festival’s first-ever Spirit of Independence Award.
Clooney has been missing from the scene since his physical setback last year. He had to back out of the Ocean’s 12 premiere last December because of severe back pain.
USA Today described Clooney as looking strong and tan. His sense of humor was still intact as he joked about helping kill off the Batman move franchise when he starred in the 1997 Batman & Robin.
“I'm no longer responsible for the Batman franchise,” Clooney said. “I could have done that s---. (Batman & Robin director) Joel Schumacher told me Batman was gay.”
Clooney works as a member of the Global Call to Action against Poverty. He said that he and pal Brad Pitt “have a real shot at effecting some change.”
