You cannot criticize something you have never experienced first hand. I would not tell Tom Cruise how to do a scene correctly. If he truly thinks drugs are bad for children to take for their conditions and proclaims to be able to help them, then why has he not made it clear of how to get in touch with him to do this. My son suffers terribly from ADHD and we have tried so many things. I would love to get him off of the drugs, but do not have the money to spend on expensive treatment. I welcome anyone who wishes to prove that my son does not need meds. Tom?? Are you up for it??? Fly on down to New Orleans...we are waiting.

As other posters are saying, Tom Cruise has no right to judge psychiatry and the use of psychotropics. His comments are totally irresponsible. I have lost any respect for him. There are countless chronically, many severely, mentally ill individuals suffering as a result of his comments about psychiatry being a pseudo-science. Tom appears to be under the control of a cult. It that is what Scientology teaches, then I truly think it is a dangerous thing. I understand that scientology bleeds people of their money. Maybe they should be investigated???

After hearing Tom Cruise's comments on psychiatry, I am appalled. He has no qualification in this field and I would like him to explain to me exactly how bi-polar disorder and schizophrenia are caused by past experiences such as childhood trauma, when medical evidence shows that drugs such as LSD can lead to these mental illnesses? How can any rational person totally dismiss the theory that some mental illnesses are the cause of medical imbalance? Scientologists are the dangerous ones, not psychiatrists.

Wow!
What an idiot cruise made of himself//////////////Ritalin is and ALWAYS has been a drug that when given to children or ADULTS with ADHD is a stimulate and it sold on the street for $5 a pills way a decade ago-DUH-he thinks this is news? But for people-ADULTS or children with true ADHD Ritalin is not a stimulate -it actually slows the fast-forward, disjointed thinking and helps those suffering from ADHD complete task, focus and be successful in school as well as in their adult careers.
Chemical imbalance? Any first year pre-med,nursing or pharmacology student learns about serotonin re-uptake inhibitors! A chemical IMBALANCE responsible for so many problems and treatable!
He showed his ignorance.

Stay away from Tom Crusse!! Stay very far away!!!! He follows scientology that was created by a very poor writer of SiFi!!!!! Check it out I'm sooo right!!!
Stay with people with educated back grounds, and have exprence in what they are talking about. By the way the book that has heped me most is still in print and is still a best seller!!! Most of the writters of my book knew what they were writing about because they lived what they were writing about. The Bible!

A woman who admits her postpartum depression and seeks help is both courageous and intelligent. It is sad to think of the women who don't recognize depression or have the support at home to pursue help. Anyone who doesn't believe it exists, takes the situation lightly or criticizes the form of treatment a woman selects should avoid discussion on the subject entirely. He is such an idiot, and so weak-minded to give an answer his church gave him. What ever happened to using your own mind and having the common decency to withhold comments about subjects with which you are unfamiliar? IDIOT. By the way, thanks to the medical world, I am a healthy, secure and balanced mother.

'Wah, wah, wah! Tom has no idea what he's talking about because he hasn't had Post Partum Depression!' So, if you have never had an illness you can't have an opinion on something? Sounds pretty stupid to me. I also like how many people are saying vitamins will do the trick. However, Tom said that is ONE of the things that work. He obviously didn't go into a whole lot of detail on treatment for this depression.

What the media has also failed to discuss is the details of Brooke's treatment. How long was it before she went on medication? Did she look into any other possibilities for treatment? How long was she on the medication? How long was she in therapy? What exactly did the therapist say that helped her? Perhaps this is in her book but I don't want to buy her book because, well, I don't really want to help support her in this aspect. Do you?

You know, hormonal imbalance is a possible cause to a lot of these mental illnesses, including Post Pardum Depression and ADHD. Do you think Brooke explored this possibility? Doubtful.

Well, all I can say is Tom Cruise's support will only grow as time passes. In the meanwhile, the rest of you whackos can enjoy your pills and the crazy world you helped erect.
