Renee Zellweger Marries Kenny Chesney

Actress Renee Zellweger and singer Kenny Chesney tied the knot Monday at a small, private ceremony on the island of St. John in the US Virgin Islands.
Zellweger met Chesney January 15 at a benefit for the victims of the Asian tsunami disaster. He performed and she was answering the phones.
Chesney has been a fan of Zellweger since the 1996 movie, ‘Jerry McGuire’ and even wrote the song “You Had Me From Hello” inspired by Zellwegar’s performance.
Zellweger wore a dress designed by Caroline Herrera. It is the first marriage for both.

I wish them the best, but I honestly don't see this lasting. She seems totally opposite from Kenny. She has dated Jim Carrey and a guy from the white stripes....how far away from Kenny can you get!? I just don't see Kenny all dressed up and walking the red carpet, or at all the fancy parties and wearing all the big name designer clothing! Oh, can you imagine Renee at a country music award show, or at a concert full of screaming girls wanting her husband?

kacie, get over it. i am happy for them both. i know im not the first one to say that i was shocked when i heard of it, but hey, whatever floats your boat. i congratulate them for keeping it all a secret as long as they did. being two high profile entertainers like they are, i'm suprised that they kept it a secret as long as they did. but like i said, i congratulate them both and i certainly hope that it works out.
the kind of people who think they should know every move that their favorite entertainers make really irritate me. it's their lives, right? so it's their business what they do, not ours. they dont have to run it by us when they decide to do something. face it, people. even though they are high profile people, they have lives too. we just dont have to know every little thing that is going on inside of them.

Kenny Chesney is 37 years old...and while he is extremely attractive to women of all ages, is that to mean he has no right to a private, married life? Are you awaiting the day when he will knock on your door and whisk you away on his jet to his island home for a weekend romance? Wake up. You will be waiting a long time. I am heartbroken as well, but the man is human and I was beginning to wonder if he was gay! At least we have that. She is not the most beautiful creature, but let's face it... without the hat... neither is Kenny! When I heard the news, I was very disappointed in Kenny. I have always been a big Kenny fan since day one. Renee is a great actress. But, I just don't think they make a very good couple, they seem so different and don't even look like they go together. I just keep wondering what in the world was he thinking. Good grief. Some of you girls need to take a reality pill. Crying because he's found happiness and it's not with you?! Do you really have such a high opinion of yourself that you've become some superhuman siren that can get any man's attention? If so, then he wouldn't have married someone else, right? I am being very serious about this. I think that it was wrong for Kenny to lie to his fans. For petes sake it has only been 4 months since they have known each other. The fans have made him who he is today and for him to lie and say there is no one and then all of a sudden he is married, I can see why his fans are upset. If you can't trust him how are you suppose to continue to be his fan? People who have admired him and looked up to him all these years are confused. As for all you people who think everything is a bed of roses with this.......all I can say is you will see. Something is just not right here and I doubt some of his fans will stick by him now because he wasn't honest. Honesty was the one thing I loved about Kenny and he ruined all of it with the lies he told. I'm not mad that his married. I think everyone deserves happiness, but PLEASE 4 months. Those of you who have such a problem with Kenny *degrading himself* by marrying Renee. How horrible to say such things about someone. If you don't like her as an actress that's fine, you don't have to, but how many of you have met her? I feel sorry for either of them if they read any of this to see how nasty people can be. I also feel sorry for Kenny having such fans as those that would say horrible things about someone he loves. I think it's safe to say he can do without fans of that nature and he'd probably not be hurt too much to lose you as a fan.

ok, I'll admit i'm not a country fan, but who is this guy. Am I totally retarded or what. Never heard of him. She is a No. 1 movie star and i think we all have to admit she is an awesome actress, one of the best. Plus she's great, really likeable. Never heard of him.
First. Renee is hardly a Hollywood party girl. She's from Katy, TX for pete's sake. And you only ever see her in 'Hollywood' when she's got a movie to promote. Her parents have been married for like 40 yrs and she's repeatedly said that she's just a Texas girl looking for the same thing her folks have. She's also rich and accomplished in her own right (so she's not using him for his money or his fame). AND she recently said she's at a point where she's ready to take a break and do new things with her life (after all she's made tons of money and won a freaking Oscar.. what's left?). Kenny could do a lot worse. Considering he's admired her from afar for years, I think it's very romantic that they finally got to meet and fell in love. As for the short courtship. I knew after just a couple of months that I wanted to marry my husband. Sometimes, you just do. Tim and Faith had a pretty short courtship and threw a surprise wedding also. Both of them also have high powered careers, seems to work for them (as well as for Brad Paisley and Kim Williams). Plus, neither of them are spring chickens. I'm sure they both know their own minds by now (at 36 and 37), and they aren't getting any younger. Lastly, while Kenny isn't unattractive, he definitely has some challenges (hairline, or lack there of being one of them). I think he and Renee more than even things out in the looks category. Sheesh, she's dated George Clooney and Tom Cruise, but she married Kenny Chesney. Sounds like love to me.
I wish them many years of happiness. Life is hard enough without having to go through it alone or without ever finding true love. More power to them!!

I'm going to have to agree with some of the (few) smarter ones that have left comments about this matter. First of all, a lot of you talk and type like you've never passed second grade...I would have to agree and say that you should worry more about that than someone else's life. Kenny and Renee hiding their relationship from fans really has nothing to do with the amount of respect they have for their fans. We all have a right to a personal and private life, and I'm sure that many of you don't share everything with the entire world. I will admit that at first I was a bit shocked, but not because he chose her or she chose him; mainly just because nobody saw it coming. As for those of you who ever thought you had chance with him, good luck with the rest of your lives. It's time to get off the fantasy cloud and live in reality. And honestly, does it really make any of you feel great when someone points out your flaws?? No, neither one of them are flawless, but they are both beautiful in their own ways and they obviously see that about one another. Usually I don't write on websites like this, but you people are really horrible people for saying some of the stuff you do. I would be amazed to see what you all look like so I could put you down for a while.
I went to Kenny's concert on Friday nite in Oklahoma City. You could definately tell that he was really happy to be married. He flaunted that left hand all over the place. I was diappointed b/c I am so totally in love with the guy,I just wanted it to be me! (LOL, I know it would have never happened) I am truely happy for the both of them and hope that this will work out for them. This will not make me like him or his music any less and all of his fans should be happy for the both of them.

I love the fact that they got married. I know that some people think that they rushed into it and that they 'dont really know each other' but thats the beauty of it. Wouldnt it be boring if you knew everything about someone? Thats what marriage is, getting to know each other a little more everyday and I couldnt be happier for them. It doesnt take that long to know when someone is 'the one' I'm proud of both of them.

I used to be friends with Renee way back when (Austin, TX in the early 90s when she was dating Sims) and she is such a wonderful, warm, sweet person. I am thrilled for her that she has found Kenny and that they are starting a life together. My best to the newlyweds!

I think it's great that Kenny and Renee got together. They are both sweet, nice, kind people and deserve each other. I also think it's terrific they kept it a secret! That's hard to do today with all the camera/publicity freaks. I love Renee and I'm happy that she found a nice man. I hope it works out. They are both talented and famous and won't need to compete with each other. (One good reason to keep things secret is because of all the nutty fans who think they have a 'right' to a famous person's life, as illustrated in some of the comments posted. Pretty scary!)

I must say I'm really worried for him. I got a little nervous when I read one of the other comments. Where they said Renee said recently, that she was ready to take a break & try new things. Is this just another bored Hollywood star and what happens to him? Will she get bored again and eventually need a break? Someone also thought it was great because he got someone he was smitten with. I have been smitten by a few people in my lifetime. That doesn't mean I was crazy enough to marry them before the first date practically. Or that it will work. im glad for kenny and renee but im kinda mad. i loved kenny but he's too old for me anyway. everytime i would see kenny on the t.v. or on a magazine i would go crazy and if it were on the mag. then i would buy it. i loved kenny. i loved his music and songs and that he loves the islands. he also changed country music a little bit because he just loves the islands and he always wears seashells. i went out and bought some of those because i like him sooo much. i also have all of his c.d.'s. i am really happy for him and renee. it really made me upset but i am way toooo young for him so i guess i'll just have to get over it.
I don't think Renee being ready for a break is about boredom, so much as about having worked solely on her career for over a decade and realizing that there is more to life than just work. It happens to many people everyday. We re-evaluate our lives and goals. And given what Renee had in the way of a 'role model' for marriage (I heard on a show this weekend that her parents have been married for a long long time), I don't peg her for going into it lightly. As for them not knowing each other. It's been said that they met in various cities over the course of several months, in addition to their other communications. I totally believe you can know if someone is 'the one' right off. And honestly, there are some other couples who dated for ages and still ended up broken up or who were engaged for ages, but end up divorce right after they finally get married. Sometimes either it's right or it's wrong. I guess Kenny and Renee felt pretty quickly that it was right for them. At their ages, there was no need to beat about the bush about it. It's not like they're a couple of youngster who don't know any better.

I don't know about the pregnancy rumors. Even if she's preggers that doesn't mean they had to get married. They may actually just love each other and be pregnant. I wish the best to both Kenny and Renee. At first I was upset, but realized I was being extremely selfish. Hey, I'm happily married, so why can't Kenny and Renee enjoy those same feelings I do?! I DO, however, have one concern. Kenny is definitely a beach lover (hence the awesome tan). On the other hand, Renee is as pale as a ghost! She obviously doesn't enjoy fun in the sun like him. Can they enjoy themselves when she's inside undercover and he's outside romping on the sands? Congratulations to both Renee and Kenny. I think they both make a cute couple together. But that can't stop me from thinking Kenny is fine looking. He did an awesome concert at the Resch Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin on March 23rd. Kenny will always be my favorite country singer no matter what happens.

I am one of those who people said it wouldn't last and I have been with my husband for over 8 years (almost 7 of them married). I think it's awesome to read that Kenny once ripped a camera out of someone's hands. If you think about it, would you really want somebody following you around and flashing a camera in your face? god u girls are driving me crazy. one of ya'll said that u haven't even heard of renee and yet u know that they aren't good together. what the hell? and how do u know that a couple wont last after being together 3 months? my best friend married her husband only 2 months after meeting and they have been together for 10 years. just b/c a woman isn't attractive doesn't mean she doesn't have a good heart. its people like u who make celebs life hell for wanting to know every detail of their lives. i say more power to ya kenny!
Kenny Chesney is soooo hot and renee zellweger is so ugly. The two dont belong together. They dont look good together either because he is so dark and stout and she is so pale and has nasty lookin droopy skin and a squinty face.

I am thrilled for them. All of you that have found that special someone knew it was right as soon as you saw each other. I'm impressed that he is with someone better suited for him rather than some hot trophy wife. Renee is a natural beatiful REAL woman, someone we can all relate to just like him. Kenny and Renee, WOW! That is something I never saw coming! I am happy for them but hope that they are doing the right thing. I just think that they should have waited a little longer to really get to know each other well before getting married. They only met January 15th! I think that it was a quick decision and maybe the wrong one but I wish them the best. I just hope Kenny didn't make the wrong decision. I have been a big fan of Kenny's for a while now and don't want to see him hurt. He is 37 years old and needs to find the right one soon. And From what I know about the 2 of them, they seem like 2 totally different people but I do not know everything so best of luck to both of them!
Congratulations to Kenny and Renee! They fooled everyone! They deserve every drop of happiness they have. Being a 'star' may seem great but it sure has it's limitations. These two have obviously waited for the right person for a long time -- just how many people do you know in their late-30s who have never married? They are mature enough to know what they want. I wish them many years of much love, many laughs and lots of peace and quiet with their families.

I am appauled by some of the responses I have read on this message board, maybe it's an age difference or something, but in my opinion, if you are a fan of someone, you would want only happiness for them. Do you expect Kenny to stay single forever because some young teenage girls are crazy about him. That's absurd and kindof sick. Why would anyone want him to spend his life lonely and never finding that special love. I love Kenny too, but come on, everybody cant have him, and I live less than a hour away from him. As far a Renee goes, I cant believe everyone is saying she is not pretty, just because she's not a glamour girl, she's not pretty. I think she a very beutiful 'real' woman who does not have to be made up to look like someone she's not, I wish all female and male stars had that additude. Some of y'all crack me up! You are bashing on Renee as if you KNOW her and what kind of person she is. Please, if you have never sat down with her and hung out talking for hours, don't bother trying to assess what kind of person Mrs. Chesney is. It may have been awhile since I knew Renee, but I knew her for several years and even before she got in front of a camera or had aspirations of acting, I admired the kind of person I knew her to be. She is a hometown girl from Katy, Texas (just outside of Houston) and she knows about being 'country' and 'southern'. She may not have dated only country boys. WHY? Because Renee is the type of gal that falls for the PERSON, not a particular 'type'. I believe that she found something special in Kenny and he did they same with her. I can honestly say that I am proud to have called her my friend and I am happy that she has found the man she wants to spend her life with. So please, stop trying to analyze celebrities. They are just people who happen to have a certain talent that has put them in the spotlight. Afterall, would you want the world to make incorrect judgements about you based on tidbits of information? I don't think so.

Ok...I have always considered myself to be - by far- the biggest Kenny Chesney fan. I've been 'in love' with him since he started his career. I was also completely and totally appalled that he jumped ship and married her. But I've come to accept it as- yes, he's only been dating her about 5 months. But look at the fact that Kenny was engaged and dated someone for 2 or so years and never married. This is the real thing and people need to accept it and move on. If they work out, that's fantastic. If not, he has my number :-D . Anyways, wish them the best of luck. I'm so happy that they've found that special person to spend the rest of their lives with. Everyone should be.
i know it may be hard to believe that kenny married renee of all the women in the world, but hey at least he's happy. i dont think they will last. when i heard that he got married i cried for three days. i may not like the fact that hes married but if it makes him happy then im happy too. best of luck and best wishes to you both. i still love keeny with all my heart.

I feel happy for Kenny Chesney that he is finally married. He needed to get married because he needed a wife. I hope Kenny Chesney and his wife live a happy life together.
