Maher off the hook in palimony suit
By Cindy Locke May 4, 2005, 17:18 GMT
Bill Maher’s request to dismiss the $9 million palimony suit brought on by his ex, Nancy “Coco” Johnsen, was granted by a Los Angeles judge on Monday.
Johnsen filed the suit on November 10, 2004 after the relationship ended. She claimed she quit her job as a flight attendant to be by his side. Her allegations also include Maher’s promises to marry her and buy her a mansion. She claims he physically abused her and made “degrading racial comments” about her.
Maher quickly filed his own motion stating Johnsen’s claims were false and she was trying to extort money from him. “When the dating ended, Johnson launched a campaign to embarrass, humiliate and extort ridiculous sums of money from Bill Maher,” the filing read.
“As promised when the complaint was first filed, we successfully persuaded the court to toss out Coco Johnsen’s palimony claims, because eight months of dating doesn’t entitle you to palimony,” Maher’s attorney, Adam Streisand, said in a statement Tuesday.

thank God the judge was smart enought to see through her evilness.
My ex-boyfriend is sueing me for my home and I don't have anywhere near the money Mr. Maher has. I cannot even afford the attorney I was forced to hire to protect my home. These frivolous lawsuits should be illegal. The only people getting rich are the lawyers. Congratulations Mr. Maher. Wish me luck.
