Pamela Anderson Protests KFC Alongside PETA
By Cindy Locke Apr 27, 2005, 3:48 GMT
The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) announced Tuesday that Pamela Anderson is calling for a boycott of KFC.
Anderson narrates a 5-minute video including footage taken last June recording alleged mistreatment of chickens at a KFC supplier’s plant.
“I’m asking people to boycott KFC until the company demands that its suppliers stop crippling chickens and scalding them alive,” Anderson said in a statement. “No animals should have to suffer this way, whether they’re cats or dogs or chickens.”
Other celebrities in the past - including Russell Simmons and the Beastie Boys - have joined Anderson’s campaign against KFC.
Yum! Brands, the parent company of KFC, continue to dispute the claims of mistreatment.
