Jackson May Sell Beatles' Rights to Clear Debt
By James Wray Apr 16, 2005, 8:31 GMT
Michael Jackson is thought to be considering selling the rights to the Beatles’ songs he owns.
The pop star is said to be struggling financially as his court costs rocket and debts pile up from his high maintenance Neverland ranch.
Jackson has a 50% share with Sony in the fab four's back catalogue of some 251 songs. The songs make around $80 million per year in royalties.
It is thought selling them would allow Jackson to clear all of his debts.
