Carey Defends Her Diva Reputation
Apr 9, 2005, 1:35 GMT
R&B beauty Mariah Carey has defended her status as a diva by insisting the term is only applied to talented women like soul legends Aretha Franklin and Diana Ross.
Allegations of the Glitter star's huge entourage, staggering rider requests and demanding behaviour have earned her the reputation as a diva.
She explains, "I don't think of diva as being a negative term. To me, diva just means you're fabulous.
"I always thought that Diana Ross and Aretha Franklin were fabulous divas. A diva has to have talent you know."
