Jackson Accuser Has Memory Lapse In Court

The son of Michael Jackson's former maid broke down in court yesterday (05APR05), as his allegations that the Thriller singer molested him were picked apart under cross-examination.
The 24-year-old man, who reportedly received a $2.4 million (£1.2 million) settlement from Jackson in the 1990s, had claimed in court on Monday (05APR05) that the 46-year-old had touched him inappropriately more than a decade ago.
Jackson's defence attorney Thomas Mesereau Jr. set out to discredit the man's story as he cross-examined him about inconsistencies between the story he told on Monday and statements he gave to authorities as recently as last December (04).
The accuser told Mesereau, "I don't mean to sound like I'm wasting your time. It's hard being up here."
He also said he told no one until 1993, when detectives investigating another boy's allegations came to him.
That interview was followed by others in 1994 and in October, November and December 2004. Under cross-examination yesterday, he acknowledged that in his 1993 interview he initially said Jackson did not molest him.
Mesereau asked if investigators became aggressive, calling Jackson a "molester" and cursing. The witness said he did not remember details of the interview.
Mesereau said, "It was only after you were pushed real hard by the sheriffs that you began to say anything like that."
The witness said he could not remember who was present or what was said in most of the interviews but recalled a few details from the first interview in 1993 because he listened to a recording of it before testifying.

this is a joke the entire case. what a waste...toomany inconsistencies, loss of memory, how convinient can remember required details to boost prosecution case... but michael you should learn from this stay away from people kids and grow up for once

It's not unusual for people to remember some details and not remember others; particularly if they've been molested. The molestation is something you never forget (unless you go into shock and supress it). It's also not unusual for a male to avoid confessing a molestation, as the two primary witnesses in this case have done, for fear of the judgments that will come down on them. The 24 yr. old is a particularly credible witness, because he continued counselling for the molestation four years after the settlement occurred. He had no motive to do that unless he really was molested. That and about 8 other (known) boys that Jackson is said to have molested, should certainly tell you something. How many famous celebrities do we hear of with at least 9 known cases of male molestation charges against them?
being an International entertainer myself, and working with some of the same people Michêal has worked with, I know that when some one sees an open door the Go through it. What does the 24 year old and others have to gain. Popularity and money.This is big news. Soon thier will be paying talk shows..tv movies books...ect. Micheal Jacskon makes huge profit, for all who cling to him and speaks loudly. He is being used. I do belive thier is a small truth to some of this... but it is nothing like the stuff that has been unveiled. I was molested as A child, and i remeber all very clearly, and it would make me sick and mad at my parents even think they would get a pay off instead of Justice. No amount of money takes away truth and pain.

I can believe that he doesn't remember parts of it. I was also molested as a child at various times between the ages of 6 & 10. I had no memory of it until I reached my late 20's early 30's. So for him to not remember everything to me is very believable. Michael Jackson settling in 1993 for 25 million sent a clear message of guilt. No amount of money is worth losing your good name and self respect if you're innocent. Shame on the parents for settling when they should have taken him to court and prosecuted. When a crime has been committed no amount of money should be offered in lieu of not testifying. How many boys have to come forward to tell the world what Michael Jackson did to them before something is done? Is everyone but Michael a liar?

If Michael is so innocent, as he would want everyone to believe. Why would he be mentioned in so many child molestation cases. These are, why try to corrupt and destroy their future. Why I am convinced that Jackson is guilty? Because he can't stop. If you are falsely accused of molestation, to you repeat the same behavior that made you a target the first time? And then if it happens again, do you still keep behaving the same way. Don't you, at some point, say 'I'm not going to have little boys sleep in my bed anymore because people misconstrue it and use it to sue me and get money?' But Jackson didn't do that. He kept sleeping with young boys in his bed, claiming to do nothing sexual, while he got sued over and over again. Sounds to me like the reason he didn't stop the dangerous behavior which makes him a 'target of false allegations' is because he CAN'T stop. He's a pedaphile. Guilty as charged.

I believe his quilty. People forget things all the time. Five years ago my father died, we filed a law suit and won. I was with my father up to his death. (thats why a lawsuit was filed) i witnessed many things that happened that were just wrong (malpractice). I had to take notes and keep a journal of the things a saw and witnessed. Today five years later I read those note and just cry for hours. If someone where to tell me it happened I probably would not believe them. Because today, five years later, i do not remember. Put on the witness stand is not easy, no one likes to admit they were abuse in any sense of the word. The bottom line is it keeps resurfacing. There's a saying that says 'when the river sounds, rocks it brings'. Hopefully you'll understand. His guilt!
I have never been molested as a child but I think that I would remember everthing from a to z what haappened when it happen wher it happened and what happened, I am a MJ fan but I do think tha there is some truth to the molestations that he has been accused of but this one inparticular I don't think so , I think that he should pay for what he did and no parent in their right mind should settle for any amount of money, I have students who have been molested and I wish I was a judge, so I can throw these perverts in jail and sentence the dealth penalty I feel no child should have to experiencce unonsentual sex at the their tender ages of childhood. I am a huge fan of Michael! He is the King of POP & that won't ever change. But, I think he is guilty & has become very weird over the years. I do also believe his father has made an impact on his behavior. No excuse for his actions though. He had no childhood. I do think that he did 'most' of what he is being accused of. At the same time I believe the parents are out for a quick buck! I can't imagine a child being abused in any way. I am a mother and I would kill to protect my child from harm! These parents are settling for $$? I can't comprehend that. I don't think he'll serve any time and I do believe he'll pay his way out of it. given the first settlement gave people the chance to accused him more . am 14 yrs and was abuse. i told my mum the 1st time it happened and i felt so bad for this boy because i thought it was true so i follow this case very close.but now i know he is lieing. some one is telling him what to say.he doesn't remember how and what he felt after. why did he go back there next time when it 1st happened. i will understand if he did not tell but refuse to go back till someone found out or push him to talk about why he doesn't want to go back. in his case he went back again and again ,nonononono. i think he just want the money .

People don't understand what its like to be a child star. I been in Beauty contest ever since I was 5 when that happend my child hood was gone. I did not get to do any of the cool things as a kid. My life was Hair,make-up, and dress rehursels and hours of practicing. I bet you any thing mikes life as a child learning and growing never happed. He was thrown in to adult hood by his Dad. Some where between Bing a child and an Adult at the same time he got lost.
ok bob, I am following what you are saying about the stories of the prosecutors changing. I understand that, but at the same time why did Michael continue to have tons of (only) little boys at his ranch? Once accused, don't keep the window open for more dirt to fly in! I am not a MJ fan but i have one feeling as a mother. WHY would any loving parent subject their child to the possibility fo allowing their child to be molested. If the mother had not allowed the boys to be in that situation NONE of this could have happen.

He is a great performer, I've seen him myself but you don't do the things he did. Like having random young boys live at your home, in your bed, etc. That is paving a path for a criminal charge from a $$ hungry parent. It really amazes me that parents would allow their children to stay overnight at someone's house that has already been accused of something as aweful as child molestation. It's sad that parents will exploit their children and have them do some of the things that they do. There are so many sick people out there that it's really scary. Michael is very strange and eccentric but I think it's because he never had a childhood and would like to have had one. Parents are the source of all of our childrens growing and dreaming and when we fail them this is the kind of thing that happens. It is so important that we as parents support our children love them and guide them in the best way that we can. I just hope that all of this will be over soon and everyone can learn from it. I don't know if Michael is guilty or not, because I wasn't there and neither were any of the rest of us that are making these statements. I do believe however that if he is guilty he will rot in Hell for all eternity.

I think Michael jackson is not the molester. I just think the parents are making a big deal out of nothing. I do think that molesters are sick and i don't want to be around them. he looks like one but i don't think he would want to do that because he is a signer and could be a woman when he wants to and if he wants to. he shouldn't even be asked if he did it or go to jail because he has lots of money that could easily take him out. Talk about STUPID people these days!

Now, I am not here to defend Michael, tickle me Emo, Jackson but...why is it that one day his accusares are accusing him of this and that in such detail but when it comes to being cross examed they forget what they said or if what happened really happened?
Is it just me or does this all sound a bit too fishy?
