Otto Deny they Sacked Heidi Klum Over Pregnancy
By James Wray Apr 5, 2005, 6:05 GMT
Supermodel Heidi Klum's former employers at German fashion house Otto have slammed her claims they fired her because she's pregnant.
The catwalk beauty accused the world's largest mail-order retailer of cancelling its contract with her when bosses heard she's expecting a child with fiance Seal.
She told readers of her website HeidiKlum.com, "Otto has made use of a clause and cancelled my contract because I'm pregnant.
"With this collection, I'll be saying goodbye to all the women and babies who liked to wear the clothes I designed."
But an Otto spokesperson counters, "We were forced to terminate our contract with Klum because she missed an important meeting with us without reason."
Klum's maternity and baby clothes will be available via Otto until June (05).
