Hunter Not Happy with Rod's Engagement
By James Wray Mar 14, 2005, 19:57 GMT
It seems Rod Stewart's soon to be ex-wife, Rachel Hunter, is none too happy about his announcement regards his next bride to be.
Last week Stewart announced via his record company that model Penny Lancaster had accepted his proposal to marry, which he made atop the Eiffel Tower in Paris.
Speaking to the Houston Chronicle Hunter said: "I used to think marriage was so beautiful, but right now, it's just one big ugly contract.”
"It is all about money, what people can get, and it has very little to do with church and vows. That is not me being angry, because I had a great marriage."
"The contract between Rod and me wasn't important, because I didn't take anything," she added, hinting that she thought Lancaster was in it for the money.
Hunter signed a prenuptial with the singer entitling her to around $9 million of his $200 million fortune, however under California law she could go for half if she wanted. Commentators think this might well happen now that he has announced his engagement to Lancaster.
