Russell Crowe was on al Qaeda Hit List
By James Wray Mar 8, 2005, 22:32 GMT
Russell Crowe has revealed to GQ magazine that when the movie "Gladiator" was released al Qaeda had a plan to kidnap him in order to "culturally destabilize" America.
The actor says the FBI contacted him in 2001 and told him about the plot. He told the magazine: "That was the first time I'd ever heard the phrase al Qaeda."
It seems the idea was to kidnap or kill iconographic Americans in order to weaken the culture, though Crowe was born in New Zealand...
After the warning Crowe says he was protected by the FBI while on location shooting other films and even at events like the Golden Globes.
"I never fully understood what the fuck was going on," he said.
Neither it seems did his potential kidnappers.

That ought to show you how dumb al Qaeda is by concocting a plan to kidnap him in order to 'culturally destabilize' America. Don't they know that all the crap that comes out of Hollywood already destabilizes America?? and were does anyone think that this crap is culture.. al Qaeda can have them all...... be sure Martin Sheen is first in line.
