American Citizenship is No Bitter Pill for Morissette

Alanis Morissette has done what many Canadians would balk at and become an American citizen.The singer took the oath last week in Los Angeles before singing 'The Star Spangled Banner' in her show later that day.In a statement to the press she said: "It can be difficult to travel and being an American will make it easier to travel over borders.""I'd like to make political comments and not have my chops busted by people who say I don't have the right to comment."That said she will remain a Canadian citizen and says she will think of herself as a Canadian-American...a bit like being Scottish-English we bet.
