In the spirit of excitement in attempting to confirm Janet Jackson and Jermaine Dupri, a press release stating their participation was issued prior to written or verbal confirmation from either party. Although Ms. Jackson and Mr. Dupri will be unable to attend the event, they wished Willie Gary and the Willie E. Gary Football Classic Foundation well in their scholarship fundraising efforts.
It is the sincere hope that Willie Gary and the Willie E. Gary Football Classic Foundation will be able to use Super Bowl XXXIX as a means to make a difference in the lives of less fortunate youth. However, if anyone has purchased a ticket in anticipation of seeing either of these celebrities, the Willie E. Gary Football Classic and the Gary Foundation will issue a refund for tickets purchased. We look forward to a successful evening with other invited guests including Magic Johnson, Oscar de la Hoya, Sam Madison, Thurman Thomas, DJ Biz Markie, Tommy Ford and others who support the mission and fundraising efforts of the Willie E. Gary Football Classic Foundation.
The event is open to the general public. Tickets are available at http://www.ticketannex.com/ or charge by phone at (866) 4MY-TIXS. General information is available at (904) 353-3008.
The Willie E. Gary Classic is more than a football game; it is a game of life. The organization is dedicated to empowering students with the tools, resources, and inspiration to obtain a higher education. Annual programs include: the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. essay contest and luncheon, the back to school campaign, pre-SAT workshops, and a higher education recruiting fair.
