Miguel's speeding and tinted windows reason cops netted DUI arrest

Hispanic pop star Miguel, who performed "Beautiful" with Mariah Carey was arrested for driving drunk in Los Angeles last Thursday.

California Highway Patrol officers pulled over Miguel, 27, initially for speeding and blacked out windows on his 2013 BMW X6 on an L.A. freeway around 2:15 AM.

Side note: The main requirements for legal window tinting in California are: The windshield and front driver's side and passenger's side windows cannot receive any aftermarket tinting. If the rear window of a vehicle is tinted, the vehicle must have outside rearview mirrors on both sides. The law prohibits any person from driving any motor vehicle with any object or material placed, displayed, installed, affixed, or applied upon the windshield or side or rear windows, with certain limited exceptions.

TMZ reports that during the stop, officers noted he smelled of alcohol and performed various field sobriety tests, which he flunked.

Miguel (Miguel Jontel Pimentel) took a breathalyzer and blew a .10 and .11 - over the .08 legal limit in CA.

Miguel was then arrested for DUI and hauled to a nearby station where he was booked ... and released a few hours later on $5,000 bail.
